Community, We’d Be Nothing Without You: A Colourful Spring Recap

If there’s one thing that fuels everything we do, it’s you. This community. Your creativity, your support, your belief in what we’re building together. This Spring, we were lucky enough to collaborate with some wildly talented locals who continue to inspire every day. Here’s a little peek into those creatives among you:

Designed with love by Natasha Alfred

The OKGN Spring 2025 collection was imagined and designed in collaboration with the incredibly talented Natasha Alfred. A local artist, dear friend, and longtime creative partner.

This season, her inspiration was rooted in something close to both of our hearts: community. She set out to reflect the way every individual makes up the heartbeat of this region; the artists, the dreamers, the everyday adventurers. Those of you who show up, who give back, who bring your full, vibrant selves to this place we all call home. The design in the collection holds a little question in its heart: How can we bring more colour to each other’s lives and do so more generously and more lovingly every single day? It’s a collection made to celebrate the power of showing up for one another and to invite a little more joy, connection, and expression into our everyday.

We couldn’t love working with her more, and we’re so grateful to have her creativity and heart wrapped into this season.

We kicked off Spring at SOPA Fine Arts

The OKGN Spring 2025 collection came to life inside the beautiful SOPA Fine Arts gallery surrounded by colour, texture, and the powerful work of some of Okanagan’s most brilliant artists. Stepping into that space reminds you of how energizing and grounding art can be and how it invites you to slow down, reflect, and reconnect.

Shooting the collection in that creative atmosphere added a whole new layer of meaning to the season. And now, we’re beyond excited to continue that collaboration by featuring a few select pieces from the gallery by local artist Shawn Serfas, right here in the OKGN shop. The textured appliqués Shawn adds to his canvases are his way of expressing just how much a single canvas can hold, parallel to how much a human can hold, too. His work is both a reflection and a reminder: we are layered, we are intricate, and we each carry depth, resilience, and beauty within us.

We feel honoured to have his pieces in our space, adding both colour and conversation to the season. Pop by the shop for a peek or take a wander through SOPA Fine Arts and soak in the magic for yourself. Let the art do what it does best.

To work with Boketto Photography is to experience the magic of intention, vision, and artistry. As humans, and as creatives. 

Their ability to capture more than just a photo, but also to hold onto energy, connection, movement, and story is something truly special. From the early brainstorms to the final edits, the process is collaborative from beginning to end.

Working with them is like building a visual love letter to the season and to you, our cherished community. This Spring shoot captured inside SOPA Fine Arts and all around the heart of the Okanagan, felt like one of our favourites yet.

We’re so grateful to have them as part of our extended creative family, and we can’t wait for the next one.

Spring blooms from JAM Studio

JAM Studio recently moved in as an extension of the OKGN Shop. Since then, they’ve brought nothing but colour, creativity, and heart to the space. Every bit of it has been explored, celebrated, and deeply cherished by you.

In welcoming Spring, it only felt right to invite them to bring some of their magic into the shop, and boy, did they deliver! Their gorgeous floral arrangements have completely transformed the space, filling it with bursts of colour, texture, and life that reflect the very essence of the season.

JAM Studio’s work is always full of heart (and, of course, petals), but it’s the care and passion they put into each arrangement that really shines. It’s not just about creating something beautiful—it’s about creating a feeling. And that’s exactly what their blooms do. They lift the space, invite joy, and spark a sense of wonder that only nature can inspire.

MORSO Smoothie Collab - The Luminosa 

Say hello to Luminosa—our refreshing, feel-good smoothie collab with the incredible team at Morso! This smoothie is everything you love about Spring—tart, bright, and bursting with the vibrant flavours of raspberry and lemon. It’s like sunshine in a cup, and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you. 

But here’s the best part: every sip you take supports something close to our hearts. For every Luminosa smoothie sold, $1.50 goes straight back into the community through our Open Space event series with Third Space Charity. This amazing initiative offers pay-what-you-can youth counselling, providing mental health support to those who need it most.

At OKGN, we believe in the power of community—and it’s through collaborations like this, with partners like MORSO, that we get to make a tangible impact. As a food partner for our events, Morso's commitment to supporting local initiatives is something we deeply admire. Their dedication to serving up not only delicious food and drinks but also fostering community spirit is part of what makes them so special.

To us, this season is all about collaboration, connection, and celebrating the colour you all bring to this region. None of this happens without you. So thank you for showing up, for supporting local, and for continuing to create something beautiful with us.
